And so, we come to the end of another year and another time for reflection. I’ve just re-read my post from December 2024 and, gosh, my mood was low last Christmas.
I’m pleased to say there’s a spring in my step this Christmas and I’m back to my normal, pretty happy self. Yes, there are depressing things happening in the world. But I work with some wonderful people on lots of really valuable projects making a genuinely positive difference to others and that’s encouraging and definitely worth getting out of bed for.
It’s been a fantastic year; the Warm Welcome Campaign is going from strength to strength bringing together community spaces that open up for people, especially those in fuel poverty or feeling lonely. As soon as the weather gets cold, we get inundated with requests from journalists. In recent weeks: Sky, LBC News, The Guardian, Independent and French TV channel TF1.
I’m working with Winchester Cathedral telling positive stories about what is happening in their community with recent PR in The Guardian, Mail, Sunday Times and Observer.
I had a great time in Bradford in May, working with the Creative Cities Convention – a two-day conference for those working in TV outside London. Next year, we’re off to Liverpool.
I’ve caught up with old colleagues, had fun trips to London and of course been running and been in the sea and the river throughout the year.
I hope 2025 has been kind to you. Here’s to another great year next year – six years since the pandemic, hooray!
Wishing you and yours a really cool yule.
