Flaming June

Image shows white roses in bloom

The weather is not exactly flaming, but poured with rain this morning as I began writing this. The rain has cleared now and of course we had that heatwave at the end of May. Just a week before the heatwave, I was standing outside for an hour with my hands freezing. It feels as if there’s no time to adjust, with this rapidly changing climate.

This month I’m taking stock of recent work. I’ve landed some good coverage for Winchester Cathedral over the time I’ve worked with them, on the BBC, ITV and in The Times, Telegraph, Guardian, Observer, Sunday Times, The I and Hampshire Chronicle.

In May I did a day’s freelance for ITV News on a Saturday when they secured an exclusive first interview with Andy Burnham following his announcement of plans to run to be MP for Makerfield. We got coverage on the front pages of the Sunday Times and Sunday Telegraphs, plus coverage on BBC online, in the Mail and others. Burnham’s line about EU membership, longer term, led the BBC news bulletins throughout the morning of Monday 18 May 2026.

With colleagues we’ve also had time to take stock of our coverage of the latest Creative Cities Convention, this time in Liverpool, for which we secured 65 pieces of coverage including Broadcast, Televisual, Liverpool outlets, Prolific North, Deadline, C21 Media and IBC365. Plus there were 6,291 impressions on LinkedIn across April and early May.

For the Good Faith Partnership and particularly The Warm Welcome Campaign we are busy putting the finishing touches to a report on the impact of the campaign over the past year. We are also preparing for the first ever Warm Welcome Awards which will be generously hosted by Sky in Osterley next week.

Just a short update from me this month. Do get in touch, if you’re looking for support for your PR and communications.
